au revior

My brother has left for Paris for his studies.
Oddly enough i think i miss him :(
One of our last moments together in Bangalore was spent trying to get a decent picture of the two of us.
The picture didn't turn out so decent so i just decided to draw us instead... :l

abode illustrator

It really does feel like we live in Illustrator the amount of time we spend on it!
My friend cracked this joke in the course of a conversation and i found it quite funny so i decided to draw it..

immovable

sticks and stones may break my bones,
but words are what condemn me.
Why are people's perceptions so immovable?

Once again IF has offered me a topic that relates to my project!
I am currently doing a project on linguistic conflict and its relation to identity. This illustration is part of that as well.

I would be BEYOND grateful if you could take one minute to give me your interpretation of this image. Feel free to interpret it any way you want.!
Thank you so much!!

muthu

This is my newest character.
Meet Muthu.
He's ferocious.
I've decided i'm going to make a series of narratives with him.
So keep checking my blog occasionally to catch the tragedies that befall him.
(You can clearly see he's the tragedy type from the expression on his face)

rakshabandhan

Today is rakshabandhan and im supposed to tie a rakhi for my brother. Unfortunately he's too far away and frankly i had forgotten until he sent me a hate-sms saying i suck.
Thus, in order to prove my love for him, i bought a rakhi and made this.

Since i can't send him one, he can print this, cut out the rakhi and, uh.. stick it on his arm? :l
:) Take a look at the packaging for the rakhi. It's quite interesting.

Here are some of the details...

the air was thick with words

I need a favour from everyone checking this post. I am currently doing a project on linguistic conflict and its relation to identity. This illustration is part of that (but it also seemed to fit the theme to me).

I need people to give me their interpretation of this image so if you could take a minute to tell me what you see in this i would be really grateful. You can be as detailed as you want.

yegyeshwariyer joins the monster gang

I decided to convert my new book into a monster. I'm not quite sure why i decided to, it just happened. Here my book was, relaxing contentedly, enjoying its self being a whole rectangle, when it got snatched and converted into a vaguely monster shape. Draw a few teeth, eyes and loads of hair and my monster book is ready.

I named it Yesyeshwariyer after my great great grandfather. I hope he doesn't end up hating me...

Was messing around with illustrator for sometime yesterday.
This is actually based on an image i remember seeing before. Wasn't upto creating my own trees so i decided to go triangular..

the modern vishnu

Vishnu has been pestering me to send him a postcard forever in return for the one he sent me from dubai. I finally made one and gave it to get him off my case.
As usual it was the post-first-draw-later method.

I give you... the modern vishnu!
I love making and sending postcards. Provided ofcourse that i get a response. So if anyone out there (hopefully someone out there is reading my blog) wants a postcard courtesy moi, tell me i shall send!

rupture

sometimes i wonder..
when did things become so surreal?

My friend seemed to really like this one so he took a few prints of it in a small size when he went printing. It looks really lovely in that tiny size...
