Wish me luck!

work work work

I've been so busy with my diploma project, i havn't had time to do anything else in what seems like forever! It's either draw draw draw, paint paint paint or stare stare stare at the computer.
Last time i was on the comp i switched on an app that tracks my cursor movement.  This is what my cursor's escapades looked like after a few hours.

I wait for the time when i can spend my time sleeping instead of all this working.

au revior

My brother has left for Paris for his studies.
Oddly enough i think i miss him :(
One of our last moments together in Bangalore was spent trying to get a decent picture of the two of us.
The picture didn't turn out so decent so i just decided to draw us instead... :l

abode illustrator

It really does feel like we live in Illustrator the amount of time we spend on it!
My friend cracked this joke in the course of a conversation and i found it quite funny so i decided to draw it..

sticks and stones may break my bones,
but words are what condemn me.
Why are people's perceptions so immovable?

Once again IF has offered me a topic that relates to my project!
I am currently doing a project on linguistic conflict and its relation to identity. This illustration is part of that as well.

I would be BEYOND grateful if you could take one minute to give me your interpretation of this image. Feel free to interpret it any way you want.!
Thank you so much!!

This is my newest character.
Meet Muthu.
He's ferocious.
I've decided i'm going to make a series of narratives with him.
So keep checking my blog occasionally to catch the tragedies that befall him.
(You can clearly see he's the tragedy type from the expression on his face)

Today is rakshabandhan and im supposed to tie a rakhi for my brother. Unfortunately he's too far away and frankly i had forgotten until he sent me a hate-sms saying i suck.
Thus, in order to prove my love for him, i bought a rakhi and made this.

Since i can't send him one, he can print this, cut out the rakhi and, uh.. stick it on his arm? :l
:) Take a look at the packaging for the rakhi. It's quite interesting.

Here are some of the details...

the air was thick with words

I need a favour from everyone checking this post. I am currently doing a project on linguistic conflict and its relation to identity. This illustration is part of that (but it also seemed to fit the theme to me).

I need people to give me their interpretation of this image so if you could take a minute to tell me what you see in this i would be really grateful. You can be as detailed as you want.

yegyeshwariyer joins the monster gang

I decided to convert my new book into a monster. I'm not quite sure why i decided to, it just happened. Here my book was, relaxing contentedly, enjoying its self being a whole rectangle, when it got snatched and converted into a vaguely monster shape. Draw a few teeth, eyes and loads of hair and my monster book is ready.

I named it Yesyeshwariyer after my great great grandfather. I hope he doesn't end up hating me...

going geometrical

Was messing around with illustrator for sometime yesterday.
This is actually based on an image i remember seeing before. Wasn't upto creating my own trees so i decided to go triangular..

the modern vishnu

Vishnu has been pestering me to send him a postcard forever in return for the one he sent me from dubai. I finally made one and gave it to get him off my case.
As usual it was the post-first-draw-later method.

I give you... the modern vishnu!
I love making and sending postcards. Provided ofcourse that i get a response. So if anyone out there (hopefully someone out there is reading my blog) wants a postcard courtesy moi, tell me i shall send!

I seem to be on a roll with the postcard thing.
Here are some more i made to send...

sometimes i wonder..
when did things become so surreal?

My friend seemed to really like this one so he took a few prints of it in a small size when he went printing. It looks really lovely in that tiny size...

im stressing...
i can't seem to concentrate...

more postcards

Continuing in the postcard vein, this is the one Vishnu sent me from Dubai.
Very rudely, he seems to have chosen one with speechless written all over the front in different languages.
The front is actually silver and shiny but it doesn't seem to have come across in the scan.

send.. then fill !

This is a postcard i sent to my friend vishnu from Kolkata.
I didn't really have the time to fill it in cal so i sent it to myself, forgot about it for 2 months, recieved a postcard from him, remembered, drew on it and then handed it over to him.
He still cribs about my post-card process at times... :P

My postcard on Vishnu's blog.

the auuuugggh state of mind

My diploma project has well and truly started now. Everyone is back, the founder director has given her speech and the starting flag has been waved. The race is on!
I was going through the copious notes and mind-mapping i had made in my log while ideating for my proposal and i came across this little sketch i made while i was getting frustrated.
It pretty much sums up how i was feeling then. And i have a feeling there are a lot more of these moments to come!

say cheese!

Its a pretty late post but this was strawberry cheesecake me and my friend divya made in Baroda for a dinner we were going to have with our friend Kalapi.
Unfortunately, Kalapi got conjunctivitis at the last minute and could'nt make it to dinner. And divya being divya never came home to eat it! I hogged most of it and saved the last slice for the two :)
You can get the recipie from my mum' blog - http://chittiskitchen.blogspot.com/
It's absurdly easy to make!
These are only two slices of the whole cake :)

The cheesecake itself took barely any time to make. Once we were done, divya and i stuffed ourselves. We combined some biscuit base from a previous endeavour with coffee icecream and chocolate chips and sauce.
Simple but delicious!

We washed our impromptu dessert with some pizza and lemonade.
It was a fun day amidst all the diploma headache! :)
